Vermont Casting Defiant

After reading your article on Catalytic vs Noncatalytic wood stoves we dicided on the catalytic version of the stove that we had picked out. Could not be happier. We are located in the pacific northwest of Washington State, so our wood supply is normally soft wood, which can be very difficult to get overnight burns with. However the Vermont Casting with the catalytic will burn for over 12 hours just as you said. We decided to use 8" vent pipe so that we could use the optional screen to allow us to open the door for those cosy nights.

Thanks again for pointing us in the right direction.

Peter
